Strip grazing land often requires regular movement of an electric fence, so Joe designed this nifty mobile solar charging unit to keep it energised.
It’s made out of sawn larch and plywood, with a sloping roof which holds the PV panel. He used a wheel barrow wheel to make it easily moveable.
Adjustable legs on the back mean that we can change the angle of the solar panel depending on the time of year (height of sun) and the slope of the hill its sitting on.
The lid is hinged and opens to reveal the inner workings; a solar control charger, a battery and an electric fence energiser.
